The RDRA was established in 1971 and is run by an elected committee of residents.

The RDRA

The RDRA is the voice of the Rārangi Community. We are a very active organisation with a strong core of voluntary committee members. We are focussed on helping the Rārangi community maintain a sense of cohesion, caring and belonging.

Rārangi Dawn Chorus

The Rārangi Dawn Chorus is our very own “predator-free” Rārangi group. It’s volunteers are responsible for setting and maintaining the predator traps around the Whites Bay Hills and the Hinepango Wetland area.

Hinepango Wetlands Group

You only need to take a walk along the Hinepango walkway to see the beautiful restoration work and replanting that has been done by the Hinepango Wetland Group. Work is on-going.

The Water Advisory Group

The responsibility of this group is to monitor and advise the Rārangi District Residents’ Association on water issues affecting the Rārangi area.

The Rārangi Volunteer Fire Brigade

In addition to being a local emergency response team The Rārangi Volunteer Fire Brigade has been an integral part of the Rārangi community since its establishment in 1960.
